Raffles Maldives Meradhoo provides guests with unparalleled luxury from the moment they step onto the main island to the sound of welcome drums and an ice-cold glass of fine champagne. Each Villa, Residence, restaurant and bar has been designed impeccably. They are flawless spaces that elevate island living to pure luxury.

Main Island
Our private island is home to 22 villas, including Raffles Residences, Beach Villas and Deluxe Beach Villas. It is also the home of the nurturing, overwater Raffles Spa, the main pool and a soft white sand beach on which are found restaurants Thari and The Firepit, and our island interpretation of the legendary Long Bar.

Overwater Island
Launching at fourth quarter of 2019, there are 16 villas on the Overwater Island. Some facing east to greet the rising sun and others facing west to capture the magnificence of the Maldivian sunset. The Nikkei-inspired restaurant Yuzu, and adjacent bar Yapa are also found here – giving guests breathtaking views to enjoy with delectable food and drink as the amber sun dips below the endless Maldivian horizon.

Raffles Royal Residence
Located on the main island and served round the clock by Raffles Butlers, Raffles Royal Residence, is an unmatched escape with its very own private beach, gardens and infinity pool.

A gastronomic haven
All food served at the resort is the result of the honed vision of Chef William Gumport. Having worked in Michelin-starred restaurants, he understands and upholds the essence of quality in all aspects of his own work and that of his team. His style is grounded in classic techniques and influenced by flavours, methodology, and modern aesthetics from around the world. He also brings with him a lifelong love of sustainable agriculture and gardening. Having travelled and studied culinary techniques around the world, Chef William practices permaculture – the idea of working with nature as opposed to against it – in our very own Chef's Garden. This perennial garden provides our kitchen with fresh produce to work into dishes while ensuring harmony in the delicate ecosystem of the Maldives. But it is also a relaxing, soulful space for guests to enjoy. Just ask, and you will be given a tour of the garden to learn about the herbs and plants native to the Maldives. You can also choose your favourite organic ingredients and learn how to cook with them in a private cooking lesson. In Chef's own words, “The main purpose of the garden is to serve the best quality food we can, secondarily it is to be a working example to all that visit of the possibilities of what nature can provide given forethought, planning, and care, and thirdly I wish to leave the island a better place than I found it.”
A responsible resort
Raffles Meradhoo Maldives protects and preserves its incredible environment and supports its local communities. We do this by creating smart food production systems, nurturing our marine ecosystem, improving the quality of life for the local population, and upholding a zero-single-use plastic policy throughout the resort. So that means we fundraise to support local schools, clean our reefs, fish sustainably and grow produce in our kitchen garden. We have also installed an in-house water bottling plant and employed Reverse Osmosis technology to produce fresh, filtered drinking water from seawater, served in refillable glass bottles. Our Marine Biologist educates all staff on how to preserve and protect our marine life, and formally trains our Marine Butlers to guide snorkelling in our housereef and share vital knowledge with our guests. Our villas and walkways are equipped with LED lights to save energy, and we only use bamboo and paper straws. Finally, to reduce paper waste, we use iPads to share information and manage data. We do everything we can do and will always look to do more. A sustainable future for the Maldives is an enduring priority for us.
